Immigration detention is one of the most punitive and rapidly expanding tools of enforcement. This training focuses on how community-based organizations can meaningfully support detained community members. This training explores practical, community-driven strategies including court observation projects and coordinated efforts to connect detained individuals and their families with legal, material, and emotional support.

Understanding Immigration Detention & the Role of Community Organizations: How detention operates and where community intervention can make a real impact.
Court Observation Projects: Building Transparency & Accountability: Launching, sustaining, and using court observation to document court trends and support advocacy.
Holistic Support for Detained Community Members & Their Families: Coordinating legal referrals, mutual aid, family support and release campaigns.
